			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s controversial but many women and men have had the procedure done.  What is it: lipodissolve, a non surgical method of removing fat cells.   It seems like a dieter&#8217;s dream.  Walk in the clinic, have a treatment and walk out 8 pounds thinner.  Well not quite.</p>
<p>The procedure was developed in South America and involves the injection of a soya oil based product which dissolves the cell wall of the fat cells thereby releasing the fat.  The body eliminates the fat through normal functions of the liver.  In other words when you visit the restroom.<span id="more-31"></span></p>
<p>Hundreds of micro needles are used to inject the medication into the fall cells over a  body area, say the lower abdomen.  The cells burst, releasing the fat.  The area swells, sometimes rather considerably.  The swelling subsides for the most part within 48 hours. There has been some pain and tenderness reported within the body part treated.</p>
<p>Small nodules can be felt within the treated area and can take up to 4 weeks to disappear.  More than one treatment of an area is usually required and the full effects of the treatment aren&#8217;t always apparent until 10 to 12 weeks afterwards.</p>
<p>Long term effects on the body area being treated aren&#8217;t known, nor is the long term effect on the body and body organs in general.</p>
<p>Costs vary considerably depending on geographic area, amount of medication used per treatment and the number of treatments required.   The costs can vary from several thousand dollars to over $10,000.</p>
<p>While lipodissolve has been touted as the lunch time alternative to liposuction, there is some down time.  Most patients report not being able to work for a day or two afterwards because of the swelling and the soreness.</p>
<p>Applying a local anesthesia cream to the area before the treatment cuts down on any discomfort from the micro needles.  Post treatment care varies.  Some clinics recommend ice applications, some say hot baths, and some say do absolutely nothing to the area for 48 hours.  Sometimes massaging the body part and compression is recommended and sometimes compression is definitely not recommended.</p>
<p>When comparing before and after photos, a definitive difference can be seen. The effect doesn&#8217;t seem to be as dramatic as liposuction.  Lipodissolve has been used in the under chin area, the neck and under the eyes, areas where liposuction is not often used.</p>
<p>Is lipodissolve for you?  It might be if you just have a problem area or two of stubborn fat and you can afford the treatments. It&#8217;s not for you if you have more than 10 pounds to lose, or if the fat is not concentrated in any one body area.</p>

<p>Cinnamon has been used in the treatment of diabetes because it stimulates fat cells and helps get rid of excess sugar in the blood stream.  Cinnamon is not water soluble which means it can build up in the body&#8217;s fat cells. The long term effect of the ingestion of large amounts of cinnamon isn&#8217;t known.  However it seems a half teaspoon a day is relatively safe.  Cinnamon can be used in meatloaf, stews, brushed on chicken and pork before grilling, as well as more commonly on fruits.  It can also be added to cottage cheese and cream cheese.</p>
<p>White kidney beans have tons of fiber and that fiber fills you up. There is some discussion that white kidney bean extract blocks starch absorption in the intestines which leads to weight loss.  You can use white kidney beans as you would red kidney beans in chilies and soups or in a side dish.  After cooking the beans you can use them in tuna and chicken salads or fresh green salad.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In this final installment of our series on dieting, we&#8217;re going to wrap things up by getting you ready to actually go and lose the weight. If you think this doesn&#8217;t take preparation, think again. Going on a diet, however you plan to do it, takes as much preparation as it does to prepare for playing at the US Open. There is a mind set that&#8217;s involved as well as a routine that has to be followed. Losing weight is something that has to be worked at everyday. So, in this article, we&#8217;re going to point out some of the main things that you&#8217;re going to need to do in preparation for one of the most important times of your life. Hopefully, after reading this, you&#8217;ll be armed with everything you need to take those pounds off.</p>
<p>The first thing you have to do is choose one of the methods outlined in the previous article in this series. If you decide you want to diet by using one of the &#8220;package&#8221; diets, such as Weight Watchers, then get all the facts of how the diet works first. Make sure you understand what it is you&#8217;re getting into before you do it. Like I said, the mind set is very important here. If you go in with a positive attitude, regardless of what method you choose, you&#8217;ll have a better chance of success.<span id="more-12"></span></p>
<p>After you have chosen the diet plan that you feel is right for you, go and see your doctor again. You&#8217;ve already been weighed and that&#8217;s fine, but now you have to inform your doctor about the diet plan you want to use. He will then examine you and determine if that plan is going to be at all harmful. For example, if you decide that you want to go on a regiment of diet pills, you&#8217;re doctor will be able to tell you if there is a risk involved with taking these pills. He might even recommend a prescription on his own for you to take that he feels will be safe. Whatever you do NEVER go on a diet without consulting with a professional first, especially if the plan is a rather radical one.</p>
<p>After you have seen your doctor and you&#8217;re actually ready to get started, make sure that you have everything you need. If it&#8217;s a food plan where you get foods sent to you, make sure that you have a sufficient supply on hand. The last thing that you want is to run out of food in the middle of your diet. If you&#8217;re planning on an exercise program, make sure you get all the equipment you need BEFORE you actually start exercising. The last thing you want is to move on to the next part of the program and find out that you don&#8217;t have the necessary equipment.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t stress enough how important it is to treat your exercise and diet program like a job. There&#8217;s no room for &#8220;I don&#8217;t feel like doing this today.&#8221; If it&#8217;s going to succeed, it has to be done right. To achieve those ends, reward yourself for each day or each week that you stick to your diet. Maybe allow yourself a new outfit or some form of entertainment. Make dieting as much fun as you have to in order for it to be enjoyable.</p>

Eat breakfast.  This meal gets you off to a good start in lots of ways.  It&#8217;s been shown the people who eat breakfast while on a diet, lose more weight than ones who don&#8217;t. Your breakfast doesn&#8217;t have to elaborate.  Have a half a bagel spread with low fat cream cheese or peanut butter and a piece of fruit.  Two hard boiled eggs, a glass of skim milk and a  few crackers.  A fruit smoothie made with nonfat yogurt, fresh strawberries and orange juice.</p>
<p>2. Make lunch your big meal and dinner a light supper.  You need energy to get you through the busiest part of the day.  Food eaten in the evening just sits in your tummy and makes you feel heavy.   Make it a rule not to eat after 8 PM every evening.<span id="more-17"></span></p>
<p>3. Exercise before you eat.  Exercise boosts your metabolism and decreases your appetite.  You don&#8217;t have to go to the gym, a brisk 20 minute walk will do it.   You can exercise inside as well.  Try going up and down the stairs, running in place, doing 15 minutes of Pilates or your favorite exercise regime. Take your break at work and use it to stretch.</p>
<p>4. Eat every four hours.  That means three meals and two snacks for most of us.  Keep the snacks low calorie.  The idea is to keep your blood sugar on an even level.  You won&#8217;t be starving and give in to the candy machine.</p>
<p>5. Decrease the level of stress in your life.  Stress causes an increase in the hormone cortisol, which is linked to fat storage.   When you feel stressed take a time out to meditate, practice deep breathing or just think about a happy memory.</p>
<p>6. Make sure you&#8217;re getting your vitamins and minerals, taking a daily supplement to boost what you&#8217;re getting from your food can be a good idea.  There are studies that show calcium has fat blocking properties and vitamin C helps with insulin production.</p>
<p>7. Picture yourself at the weight you want to be.  Don&#8217;t belittle yourself with the weight you haven&#8217;t lost but congratulate yourself with the weight you have lost. Keep a positive body image.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When they speak about World War II and the Battle of the Bulge, they forgot about the biggest bulge battle of all time. I&#8217;m talking about that spare tire around your middle, the flabby arms and thighs, the double chin and just about every other part of your body that&#8217;s got just a little more meat on it than it&#8217;s supposed to have. Well, fear not. While you may have tried just about every get thin quick diet in existence with no luck at all, this article, and the brief series to follow, will give you some solid info and a few common sense tips to get you off on the right foot in getting that body that you always wanted. Hopefully, after reading this series, you&#8217;ll have a pretty good idea of how to go about losing those extra pounds.</p>
<p>The first thing you need to do is actually determine if you need to lose weight. Oh, I know, you&#8217;re not a size three. Well, maybe you&#8217;re not supposed to be a size three. After all, each of us have different heights and bone structures. Those two things play a great role in determining just how much we should weigh. For example, somebody who is five foot seven with a small frame, or bone structure, should not weigh as much as somebody who is five foot five with a large frame, or bone structure. News flash, bones are heavy. So you have to take that into consideration.<span id="more-9"></span></p>
<p>So, how DO you determine whether or not you should lose weight? Well, the good news about figuring this out is that modern science has done all this work for you. There are charts for every size frame and height imaginable in order to determine your correct body weight. And the beauty of these charts is that you can find them easily online. There are a number of sites on the Internet that have very complex programs developed to return your ideal weight. All you need to do is pop in your height and frame type and you&#8217;re in business. Some charts also include age as well since out metabolisms do slow down as we get older.</p>
<p>After we have determined what our ideal weight is supposed to be, we then have to find out what our current weight is. Don&#8217;t rely on your bathroom scale, sorry to say. Regardless of what they say, they&#8217;re not guaranteed to be accurate. Go to your doctor and find out what your actual weight is. His scale is going to be a lot more accurate than the one you picked up at Sears.</p>
<p>After you&#8217;ve determined what you&#8217;re actual weight is, you simply take your actual weight and subtract your idea weight from it. This will tell you how many pounds overweight you are to the pound and as accurately as possible. Why is this so important? Because losing weight properly has to be done systematically and with great regulation if it&#8217;s going to be done right.</p>
<p>In the next article of this series, we&#8217;re going to discuss some of the reasons why people are overweight. By understanding these few things and making changes in these areas, you may actually start to lose weight even before you begin your diet.</p>
